IEEE RO-MAN'2003 is the 12th International Workshop on Robot and Human Interactive Communication. The RO-MAN workshop addresses fundamental issues concerning the co-existence between humans and mechatronic devices such as robots. This includes recent advances of technological as well as psychological research on the collaboration and communication between robots and humans. The conference will be held at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel, in Silicon Valley and close to Stanford University, for maximal benefit from the proximity of the many industrial and academic centers of excellence in the field of human-robot interaction. On the day after the conference, Nov. 3, there will be scheduled tours of Intuitive Surgical Inc. and Immersion Corporation as well as the Palo Alto VA Rehabilitation R&D Center and several Stanford University Haptics and Robotics labs. RO-MAN'2003 is scheduled so that it is only a short trip from the IEEE-RAS sponsored IROS Conference held the week prior to RO-MAN'2003 in nearby Las Vegas, Nevada, and an easy transition to the IEEE-IES-sponsored IECON Conference, held in the days after RO-MAN'2003.

Deadline for submission of papers and organized sessions: June 15, 2003

Paper submission and review will be fully electronically. Please consult the conference web site for instructions on the preparation and submission of your manuscript.
